I started my meditation practice over 25 years ago to better manage stress and anxiety. Before I’d learned a technique to quiet my mind, I was an emotional mess. I didn’t know how to slow my thoughts down, and spent most of my waking hours feeling panicked and overwhelmed. Although, like most working people today, I did have way too much on my plate (family, business, community activities and the need to stay fit), I wasn’t even sure how to set priorities. I always felt like I was letting someone down, including myself.

Once I started meditating I learned to train my mind to reach greater states of relaxation and concentration. A regular schedule of meditation in my life has taken patience and practice, but I do believe it has been the single most valuable daily ritual I give myself.
